Spring in Rhode Island wouldn’t feel complete without a good old-fashioned plant sale. As April turns into May, local gardens (and gardeners) come to life, and so do the pop-up sales hosted by some of the best community groups around. Whether you’re hunting for tomato starts, hanging baskets, hardy perennials, or a few pollinator-friendly natives, these sales are a fun way to stock up for the season and discover new favorites.
Even better: local plant sales don’t just help your yard look amazing, they help our community thrive. Many of these events are fundraisers that support meaningful local causes, with proceeds going back to groups like schools, churches, and community organizations, including scouting groups, plant groups, and more! So every flat of seedlings or pot of herbs you bring home is also a small way to give back.
