As a child, I stood on the bow of either my father's (Julie-C) or my uncles' (Seven B's) boat and watched the crowds lining the shores of Galilee. The decorated vessels, the cheering families, the salt air, I didn't have words for it then, but I knew something special was happening. Now, decades later, the Blessing of the Fleet is still one of the most magical events in Rhode Island, and I want every family to experience it.

A 3-Day Celebration You Cannot Miss
Organized by the Narragansett Lions Club since 1972, this beloved festival draws nearly 30,000 people each year, and for good reason. Running Thursday evening through Saturday night in Narragansett, the celebration includes three unforgettable events:
- The Festival — Taking place in Memorial Square (next to the Towers) in Narragansett, RI — boasts food, carnival rides, games, and live music!
- The 10-Mile Road Race — Starting at the Narragansett Per Middle School and winding along the scenic views, you can cheer on the runners when they finish at the Towers!
- The Blessing of the Fleet — Held in the Narragansett Village of Galilee, you can watch the main event on shore, where local fishing vessels parade the water and receive a blessing.

The Food, the Dancing, the Fun
This is not your average summer festival. Some of the best dancing and freshest seafood in all of Rhode Island can be found right here at the Blessing. The live music keeps the energy going, and the food, well, you're in Narragansett!! You already know it's going to be good.
Bring the whole family. Let the kids watch the boats. Grab a bowl of chowder. Stay for the dancing. This one is not to be missed.
